What is a qr code? A QR (Quick Response) Code is a type of two dimensional (2d) bar code developed by Denso Wave in Japan and released in 1994. Compared to the normal scannable barcode you see on most products a qrcode has the ability to store much more information and can be a tenth of the size of a barcode with the same data coded in it.
The QR Code specification was made freely available, has now been standardised and is accepted around the world. QR Codes are printed out by QR code printers or PC software (qr code generator)and scanned by mobile phone readers or a range of scanners (bar code readers).
